Antique (1872) Gilded Sterling Silver Jerusalem Cross Pendant

This antique Jerusalem Cross pendant is made of fully hallmarked Sterling silver and has a lightly gilded finish. The pendant dates from 1872 and has a lovely, clear set of hallmarks including the Queen Victoria’s head stamp.

The cross measures 1.9cms x 1.9cms (excluding the bale and suspension ring) and it weighs 1.9g

The reverse of the cross is stamped with Queen Victoria’s head, the lion passant (for Sterling silver) along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1872.

This antique pendant is 153 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just very light signs of age / general wear. The top suspension ring is also Sterling silver but is not gilded (the suspension ring is not soldered closed).
