Antique (1912) 9ct Rose Gold Double Sided Glazed Locket Pendant

£79.00
sold out

This antique double sided locket locket pendant is made of fully hallmarked 9ct rose gold and dates from 1912. The locket is the same on both sides: each side has a circular glass cover and contains removable images. The locket is undone by unscrewing the top bale which then opens the frame and releases the two glass covers and contents; a photo / lock of hair can then be fitted inside before securing the gold frame again by screwing up the bale.

The locket has a diameter of 2.8cms and it weighs 5.2g

The bottom rim of the locket is stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1912. There is also a maker’s mark (see photo). The top suspension ring is also stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’.

This locket is 114 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. The top bale screws / unscrews as it should; there is a small dent to each side of the bale. The glass covers are in good condition with no edge chips (there are a couple of small, superficial scratches to one of the glass covers, the other one is in excellent condition). The top suspension ring has not been soldered closed.
