This antique box clasp is made of hallmarked 9ct rose gold and is offered for sale in fully working order. It’s likely that this clasp was originally made to fit a single strand pearl necklace.
The rectangular box part of the clasp measures 7mm x 2mm x 2mm; the length of the clasp including the two attached rings (but not the outer end rings) is 11mm.
One side of the clasp is stamped ‘9CT’ for 9ct gold. There is also a ‘CIRO’ maker’s mark. The end rings are not separately hallmarked and have not been tested for gold content.
This antique clasp is in good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. The clasp opens easily and closes securely with a click.
