Antique Edwardian (1907) 9ct Rose Gold Double Sided Glazed Locket Pendant

£83.00
sold out

This antique double sided locket pendant is made of fully hallmarked 9ct rose gold and dates from 1907. The locket is the same on both sides: each side has a circular glass cover and contains removable images. The locket is undone by unscrewing the top bale which then opens the frame and releases the two glass covers and contents; a photo / lock of hair can then be fitted inside before securing the gold frame again by screwing up the bale.

The locket has a diameter of 2.6cms and it weighs 3.7g

The bottom rim of the locket is stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1907. There is also a maker’s mark.

This locket is 119 years old and is in very good condition for its age, showing just very light signs of age / general wear. There are no dents to the gold and the glass covers are in very good condition with no scratches (there is the tiniest, superficial, fleabite edge chip to one of the glass covers which is barely visible as it sits under the glass rim). The top suspension ring has not been soldered closed.
