Antique Edwardian 9ct Gold and Natural Opal Stickpin
This elegant antique stickpin is made of 9ct yellow gold. The terminal is set with a cabochon cut natural opal. The opal has a good play of colour which appears more vivid / bluer when the pin is against a dark background.
The stickpin measures 5.4cms length and the opal itself measures 5mm x 4mm
The stickpin weighs 0.7g
As is sometimes the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks, but the stickpin has been professionally tested and is made of 9ct yellow gold.
This antique stickpin is over 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. The opal has a glossy surface finish with no wear; under magnification it can be seen that there is a very very small edge chip on one side which is behind / under one of the securing claws and cannot be seen with the naked eye.
