Antique Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold, Natural Aquamarine & Seed Pearl Earrings

£83.00
sold out

These beautiful and elegant antique earrings date from the Edwardian era. The earrings are made of 9ct rose gold (the ear fittings and aquamarine mounts) and the chain sections test as silver. The earrings are set with two very sparkly, icy, natural aquamarines and the ear fittings are accented by two small seed pearls. These earrings have perhaps been adapted in antiquity. Please see the condition section below.

The earrings have a total drop (from the top of the pearl to the base of the aquamarine mount) of 3.3cms and the earrings have a combined weight of 2.0g. The aquamarines are slightly different sizes: one measures 6mm diameter and one measures 6.5mm diameter (including the gold mounts).

As is sometimes the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks but the ear fittings and aquamarine mounts test as 9ct rose gold. The chain sections test as silver.

These earrings are over 100 years old and show light signs of age / general wear. The earrings have perhaps been modified or adapted in antiquity. The aquamarines are both in very good condition; one is slightly larger than the other (see above for size detail). One of the chain sections has a spot of solder towards the aquamarine drop. When the ear fittings are screwed up / tightened there is a degree of ‘give’ initially but the screw mechanism kicks in at a certain point allowing the earrings to screw securely onto the ears. The earrings are priced to reflect condition.
