Antique Edwardian Era 9ct Rose Gold Heart Locket Pendant

£85.00
sold out

This pretty and decorative antique locket pendant dates from the Edwardian era and is made of 9ct rose gold. Both sides of the locket have beautiful floral engraving detail and one side also has a central blank cartouche which was designed to be engraved with initials. The locket is of the 9ct gold ‘back and front’ variety, which means that the front and back panels of the locket are made of 9ct gold and that the frame and inner securing rings are made of a gold coloured metal (which improves the locket’s strength and durability). The locket retains two inner securing rings and an original photo (which can be removed & replaced).

The locket has a height of 2cms (excluding the suspension bale and ring) and it weighs 3.0g

As is sometimes the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks; the locket has been tested and is made of 9ct rose gold (back and front).

This antique locket pendant is over 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing some signs of age and general wear. By design the front and back panels of the locket are not thick and the gold can be pushed in and out. On close inspection it can be seen that there is a tiny section of gold missing from the top of the locket on the side with the blank cartouche on. The locket opens easily and closes securely with a click.
