Antique Edwardian Era Silver and Enamel Miniature Pen Knife

This sweet and collectable antique miniature penknife is made of solid silver, with a steel blade and central section. The penknife has guilloche enamelling in a vibrant turquoise blue (the enamelling is the same on both sides). The blade pulls out of the central section and folds back in the normal way.

The penknife measures 2.8cms length when folded (including the bale but excluding the top suspension ring) and it weighs 4.2g

As is sometimes the case with items of this age and type there are no hallmarks, but the penknife tests as silver (the enamelled areas) with a steel blade and central section.

This antique penknife is in good condition for its age. There is no enamel loss other than a very small area at the tip of the penknife at the blade end. The blade shows light signs of age and use and a little discolouration (which could probably be removed with wire wool). The blade pulls out easily and has a crisp retraction action. The silver suspension ring has not been soldered closed.
