This stylish set of buttons dates from the Edwardian era and is offered for sale in the original case, each with its own securing hook. The button fronts are mother of pearl, the central ‘cross’ and button rims are made of silver and the back of each is a silver coloured metal.
Each button front measures 1.4cms diameter and the case measures 12cms x 3.5cms
As is sometimes the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks; the button rims and central crosses test as silver, the backs are a silver coloured metal. The securing hooks are base metal.
This antique button set is over 100 years old and is in very good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear and use. The button fronts are all in lovely condition with no damage to the mother of pearl or silver decoration. The securing hooks are all the same size but vary a little in tone.
