Antique Georgian 9ct Gold and Coral Lace Pin / Brooch

This sweet and collectable antique lace pin or brooch dates from around 1800 - 1820 and is made of 9ct gold. The front of the pin has beautiful engraved floral detail all around is is set with a rectangular, polished, cabochon cut coral. The reverse of the brooch is plain; the gold is a slightly rosier 9ct gold on the reverse of the brooch (the front is 9ct yellow gold).

The brooch measures 2cms x 1cm and it weighs 3.8g

As is often the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks; the front and the back of the brooch have been professionally tested and both are made of 9ct gold.

This antique brooch is over 200 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no dents to the gold or damage to the coral, and showing just light signs of age / general wear. The coral has a softly glossy surface finish. The pin / clasp are in secure working order. There are signs of spot solder around the pin hinge, where it attaches to the brooch.
