As is often the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks; the brooch has been professionally tested and is made of 9ct rose gold.
This antique brooch is over 200 years old. The gold and pearls are in very good condition; the pearls all appear to be original. The glass cover is in good condition showing just light general surface wear. It appears that some sort of dust or sediment has mixed in with the hair panel.
