This hallmarked antique Sterling silver trombone link neck chain dates from the Victorian or Edwardian era. The neck chain features trombone links and also has a lovely large bolt ring clasp and attached t-bar.
The neck chain measures a maximum of just over 15” in length (the clasp can also be attached to other links reducing the overall length). The trombone links have a height of 6.5mm. The t-bar measures 3.8cms length.
The neck chain (including the t-bar) weighs 24.2g
Every small oval link is stamped with the lion passant (for Sterling silver). The T-bar is also stamped with the lion passant and a slightly unclear date letter (I think the date is either 1886 or 1911). There is also a partial maker’s mark.
This antique neck chain is over 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing some light signs of age and general wear. The trombone links are in good condition, the small oval links at the t-bar end of the chain show some light general wear and have not all been soldered closed. The bolt ring is in very good condition with a secure spring back closing mechanism.
