Antique Victorian (1876) Silver and Enamel Cufflinks, Cased
These stylish antique cufflinks date from 1876 and are made of solid Sterling silver. Each pair comprises of an enamelled panel and an engraved panel, connected by a chain section. The cufflinks are offered for sale in very good condition and come in an antique cufflink case (the one they came to me in).
Each cufflink panel measures 1.7cms x 1cm and the cufflinks have a combined weight of 5.8g (excluding the case).
One of each pair of cufflinks is stamped ‘SILVER’. One of each pair is also stamped with the lion passant (for Sterling silver), along with hallmarks showing that the cufflinks were made in Birmingham in 1876. There is also a maker’s mark which I believe is for G H Johnstone & Co.
These antique cufflinks are 149 years old and are in very good condition for their age, with no enamel loss and showing just very light signs of age / general wear. The case is also in very good condition showing just light general wear; it opens easily and closes securely with a click.
