This pretty antique brooch is made of fully hallmarked Sterling silver with 9ct rose gold overlay in the central area. The gold section has pretty engraved floral detail and the brooch is edged with a textured repeated floral motif.
The brooch measures 4.1cms x 2cms (maximum dimensions) and it weighs 4.2g
The reverse of the brooch is stamped with the lion passant (for Sterling silver) along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Chester in 1891. There is also a maker’s mark of ‘AJS’.
This antique brooch is 134 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. The silver is a little irregular in finish on the underside of the brooch around the hinge. The pin / clasp are in secure working order.
