This unique and collectable cheroot holder and case are made of fully hallmarked 9ct rose gold and fully hallmarked Sterling silver. The set comprises of an amber cheroot holder with 9ct rose gold collar and its original Sterling silver case, which has a gilded interior and a felt lining to the lid. The case has decorative scrolled engraving detail and one side is hand engraved ‘A.E.W. from A.M.J’. This cheroot holder and case are offered for sale in very good condition.

The inside edge of the case is stamped with the lion passant (for Sterling silver), along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1897. There is also a maker’s mark. The collar / mount of the cheroot holder is stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1898.
This cheroot holder is 129 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear. There are no dents to the case or to the gold mount. The cheroot holder fits beautifully in the case, which opens easily and closes securely with a click.
