This lovely antique heart charm / small pendant is made of 9ct yellow gold. The front of the heart has beautiful engraving detail and is centred with a vibrant turquoise cabochon. The reverse of the locket has a heart shaped glazed locket compartment which contains a lock of hair (I have not tried to remove the glass cover / hair but I believe a jeweller would be able to do this). The locket is suspended from a facetted 9ct gold suspension ring.
The heart itself (excluding the bale and suspension ring) measures 1cm height and the charm weighs 0.9g
As is often the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks; the charm and suspension bale have been professionally tested and are made of 9ct yellow gold.
This antique charm / pendant is well over 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, with no dents or damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear. The turquoise and glass locket cover are in very good condition. On close inspection it can be seen that the area at the join of the heart and bale is a little darker in colour than the rest of the heart but this not significant. The facetted suspension bale is fully closed.
