Antique Victorian 9ct Rose Gold, Seed Pearl and Red Gem Horseshoe and Chain Brooch

sold out

This antique brooch dates from the Victorian era and is made of hallmarked 9ct rose gold. The brooch is loaded with symbolism and sentiment: the fixed chain links symbolise unbreakable commitment and strength through unity, while the horseshoe is of course a good luck emblem. The horseshoe is set with four seed pearls and three pinky red paste stones. The brooch looks great worn as it is, but could also be a conversion piece: a length of gold chain added to each end and it would become a unique, symbolic and stylish necklace.

The brooch measures 3.8cms across and the horseshoe itself has a height of 1.2cms.

The brooch weighs 1.7g

The reverse of the brooch is stamped ‘9CT’ for 9ct gold. The pin itself is not gold.

This antique brooch is at least 140 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing light signs of age / general wear. The pin / clasp are in secure working order.
