This lovely, adjustable fit, antique bracelet dates from the Victorian era and is made of black moire ribbon. The bracelet is fitted with a 9ct gold, enamel and seed pearl letter ‘D’ slider, along with a decorative 9ct yellow gold clasp which secures the bracelet ribbon at the desired wrist length. This would originally have been worn as a mourning bracelet.
The bracelet has a minimum length of 7.25” and a maximum length of 9.5”; it can be worn at any point in between these two lengths.
The bracelet ribbon has a height of 11mm and the square slider measures 1.5cms x 1.4cms
The reverse of the clasp is stamped ‘9CT’ for 9ct gold; the square slider also tests as 9ct yellow gold.
This antique mourning bracelet is at least 130 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear. There is no enamel loss to the slider and the pearls all appear original and well matched. The clasp opens easily and closes securely.
