Antique Victorian Banded Agate Book Pendant / Charm
This unusual antique pendant / charm dates from the Victorian era and is made from polished banded natural agate in varying shades of white, orange and brown. The edge that would be the opening part of the book is gently scalloped (carved) in a realistic way to reflect the way pages sit within the front and back cover. The charm / pendant is fitted with pale gold coloured base metal fittings.
The agate itself measures 18mm height x 14mm width and the pendant weighs 2.8g
There are no hallmarks; the fittings are a pale old colour and are made of a base metal (there is no silver or gold content).
This antique pendant / charm is in very good condition with no chips or scratches and with a nice, glossy, surface finish. The suspension ring has not been soldered closed.
