This beautiful and naturally detailed miniature desk seal dates from the Victorian era and is made of carved and polished banded agate. The base is uncut and could be engraved with initials etc. The agate shows lovely colour and pattern variation, it’s opaque in some areas and semi-transparent in others. The end has a beautiful crystalline structure and the seal has a polished, glossy finish.
The desk seal measures 3.7cms height and the base measures 11mm x 11mm

This seal is around 140 - 180 years old and is in very good condition for its age, showing just very light signs of age / general wear. The carving is lovely and crisp and there are no chips (there are a couple of miniature fleabite sized edge nibbles to the crystalline end).
