This unusual and fairly substantial antique seal charm dates from the Victorian era and is gold cased. The seal charm is in the form of a drum with ‘stringing’ and decorative engraving detail all around. Each end of the drum is set with an uncut circular sard panel; the sard is white in colour at one end and light brown at the other and has a little naturally occurring pattern. A 9ct gold suspension ring is fitted so that the charm can be hung from a bracelet (originally it would have probably hung from a watch chain).
The charm measures 1.3cms width and each end measures 1.2cms diameter. The charm weighs 4.5g
There are no hallmarks; the charm has been professionally tested and is gold cased
This antique charm / seal is around 130 - 140 years old and is in good condition for its age showing light signs of age / general wear.
