This pretty and collectable antique Suffragette brooch is made of fully hallmarked 9ct yellow gold and dates from 1910. The brooch features a stylised flower, which is set with seed pearls, an almandine garnet and three demantoid garnets. The brooch is in the Suffragette colours of green, white and violet, for ‘Give Women Votes’.
The brooch measures 4.1cms length and it weighs 1.8g
The reverse of the brooch is stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1910. There is also a maker’s mark of ‘WGS’. The pin itself is not gold.
This antique brooch is 116 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no dents or damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear.
