Good Size, Ornate, Antique Victorian 9ct Gold Double Sided Glazed Picture Locket
This lovely, good size, antique locket dates from the Victorian era and is made of hallmarked 9ct yellow gold. The locket frame has the same ornate detail on both sides and the locket has its original chunky, slightly convex, glass covers which slightly magnify the image underneath. The images currently in the locket can be easily removed / replaced; the locket is opened by unscrewing the top bale which then releases the frame and allows easy access to the contents.
The locket measures 4.2cms height (including the top bale) x 2.6cms maximum width and it weighs 7.4g
The bottom of the frame is stamped '9CT' on one side for 9ct gold
This antique locket is around 140 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear. The glass covers are both in very good condition; they are secure within the frames but can move around fractionally.
