This sentimental and decorative antique heart locket pendant dates from the Edwardian era and is gold plated; the gold plating is rose gold in colour. The front of the locket features decorative scrolling detail and is star set with a blue paste stone. The locket opens to reveal two locket compartments, each of which retains its original backing paper, inner securing ring and perspex type protective cover.
The locket measures 2.5cms height (including the integral bale but excluding the top suspension ring) and it weighs 3.7g
There are no hallmarks; the locket tests as gold plated.
This antique locket is over 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, with no dents and showing just light signs of age / general wear. The front of the locket is in very good condition; there is very light superficial wear to the gold plating in the central area on the reverse. The locket retains all its original inner parts. The top suspension ring has not been soldered closed. The locket opens easily and pushes securely closed.
