Rare Antique Art Deco Era Silver & Enamel Egyptian Sarcophagus Charm With Mummy Inside

£39.00
sold out

This rare antique charm dates from the Art Deco era and is made of solid silver. The charm is in the form of a sarcophagus with blue, turquoise and red enamelling detail. The charm opens to reveal a lightly gilded interior and a gilded mummy with turquoise enamelling and hieroglyph detail on the inside of the sarcophagus ‘lid’. The mummy can be removed from the sarcophagus.

The charm measures 2.1cm height (excluding the top suspension ring) and it weighs 1.1g

There are some original hallmarks on the suspension bale; these are difficult to make out but the charm tests as silver.

This antique charm is around 90 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing light signs of age / general wear. There is a little enamel loss on the outside; the inside is in very good condition. There is a very small, light, dent on the reverse which is not significant and I am only mentioning as I like to be thorough. The top suspension ring has not been soldered closed.
