This beautiful, rare and sentimental antique pendant dates from around 1820 and is offered for sale in its original velvet case and in great condition. The pendant is made of silver and the front has applied cut steel decoration and a cut steel border over a turquoise glass background. The cut steel decoration depicts a flower, possibly a forget-me-not. This is a pendant, not a locket, and it’s offered for sale in its original case which has a rich blue velvet exterior and a cream velvet / satin interior.

The pendant measures 3.1cms x 2.4cms (including the suspension bale but excluding the top suspension ring) and it weighs 6.1g

As is often the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks, but the pendant has been professionally tested and is made of silver.

This pendant is around 200 years old and is in lovely condition for its age, with no missing cut steel, no damage to the glass and no dents to the silver. The case is in good condition for its age showing some signs of age and use: there is an area of wear to the to the centre top. The case opens easily and closes securely with a click.
