Rare Georgian Miniature Penknife Pendant / Accessory
This rare and collectible miniature penknife dates from around 1800 and is made of ivory and steel with a gold coloured metal lining. The blade opens and pushes closed (it doesn’t quite fully close). One side of the blade has a thumbnail groove to enable opening. A suspension ring is attached to the top so that it could be fitted to a chain.
The penknife measures approximately 4.1cms length when fully extended and 2.4cms length when closed. It weighs 1.5g.
