Sentimental Antique Edwardian (1906) Sterling Silver Double Heart & Acorn Locket Pendant
This lovely antique locket pendant is made of fully hallmarked Sterling silver and dates from 1906. The sentimental locket front depicts two hearts and also an acorn and leaf motif; acorns symbolised new beginnings, immortality and prosperity in antique jewellery. The locket opens to reveal two locket compartments, each with its original card backing and inner securing ring.
The locket measures 2.4cms height (excluding the integral bale and suspension ring) and it weighs 4.5g
The reverse of the locket is stamped with the lion passant (for Sterling silver) along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1906. There is a maker’s mark of ‘S.BROS’
This antique locket pendant is 119 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. The front of the locket is in lovely condition and the reverse shows just light general wear. The locket opens easily and closes securely with a click.
