This absolutely stunning, huge, antique locket pendant dates from the Victorian era and is centred with a sparkly ‘cushion cut’ clear paste stone. The locket is set with a decorative and substantial bale and the reverse of the locket is plain. Inside there are two good size locket compartments which each retain their original blue backing fabric, inner securing ring and protective glass cover.
The locket measures 4.5cms x 3.5cms (excluding the bale and suspension ring) and it weighs 26.4g
There are no hallmarks but the locket tests as gold plated.
This antique locket pendant is around 140 years old and is in lovely condition for its age, with no dents or damage and showing just very light signs of age / general wear. The glass covers are in lovely, original condition. The locket opens easily on the side and pushes securely closed.
