This stunning, substantial and unusual vintage charm / pendant is made of fully hallmarked 9ct yellow gold and dates from 1965. The charm is in the form of a lantern and is set with three aurora borealis effect flower shaped paste stones. By design one of the four sides of the body of the lantern is plain so that the lantern lies flat when worn.
The charm / pendant measures 2.8cms height (including the integral bale but excluding the top suspension ring). Each of the four sides of the main section of the lantern measures 11mm x 9mm
The charm / pendant weighs 4.0g
The base is stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with hallmarks showing that the lantern was made in London in 1965. There is also a maker’s mark.
This vintage charm / pendant is 61 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no dents and showing just light signs of age / general wear. The plain gold side of the lantern has a small area where the gold has a slightly irregular finish. The top suspension ring has not been soldered closed.
