Stunning Vintage (1971) 9ct Gold and Synthetic Sapphire Cocktail Ring
This showstopper vintage cocktail ring is made of fully hallmarked 9ct yellow gold and dates from 1971. The ring is set with a circular, facetted, sparkly, synthetic sapphire in a vibrant shade of purple.
The ring is a UK size P / US size 7.5
The synthetic sapphire itself measures 1.4cms diameter and the ring weighs 5.5g
The inside of the ring shank is stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1971.
This vintage ring is 52 years old. The synthetic sapphire itself is in lovely condition with no chips, scratches or wear. The gold ring shank shows some wear / thinning at the back and is a little out of round. The stone is secure in the mount, but can be heard to move fractionally when the ring moves around.
