This unusual and stylish antique pendant dates from around 1920 - 1930 and is made of a composite material, perhaps Bakelite, and is set with 9ct rose gold fittings. The composite material is possibly designed to resemble amber.
The pendant measures 5.5cms length (excluding the top suspension ring) and it weighs 1.6g (it’s light).
As is sometimes the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks, but the fittings test as 9ct rose gold.
This antique pendant is around 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear. The top suspension ring has not been soldered closed.
