This stunning and substantial antique scroll design brooch dates from the Victorian era and is made of 9ct yellow gold. The brooch is set with three citrines: the central citrine is a bronze / gold colour and the two outer citrines have a more smoky tone. Please note that this brooch has condition issues and is priced to reflect the defect (see below for details).
The brooch measures 5cms x 3.2cms and the central citrine measures 1.2cms x 8mm

As is often the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks; the brooch has been professionally tested and is made of 9ct yellow gold with a base metal pin.
The citrines are in good condition showing just very light general wear under magnification (nothing obvious to the naked eye). The brooch pin / clasp are in secure working order. Unfortunately a historic repair to the end of the brooch - where the pin hinge meets the brooch - has been poorly executed and has left an obvious area of lead solder. Please see the photos for detail. The brooch is still wearable. The price is based on the fact that there is considerable gold weight in the brooch.
