Substantial, Impressive, Vintage 9ct Gold and Blue John Ring
This stylish and substantial vintage dress ring is made of fully hallmarked 9ct yellow gold and dates from 1998. The ring is set with a polished Blue John stone in varying shades of lilac and purple.
The ring is a UK Size R / US size 8.5
The ring front measures 2.2cms height x 1cm maximum width and it weighs 4.6g
The inside of the ring shank is stamped with a crown and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with hallmarks showing that the ring was made in Edinburgh in 1998.
This vintage ring is 26 years old and shows light signs of age / general wear. On close inspection it can be seen that there is a little surface wear to the blue john in one small area on the edge. There is a very fine, superficial, hairline crack across the width of the Blue John (in line with the natural pattern within the stone) which has probably always been there. The Blue John stone is secure within the gold mount.
