This beautiful, quality, antique brooch dates from around 1910 and is made of hallmarked 15ct yellow gold. The brooch is centrally set with a natural aquamarine in the most beautiful and vibrant shade of blue. There are also four well matched, lustrous, natural pearls set around the aquamarine and on the brooch bar. This brooch is offered for sale in lovely condition in its original (or contemporary) case.
The brooch bar measures 4.2cms length and the aquamarine itself measures 7mm diameter (including the gold mount)
The brooch weighs 2.6g (excluding the case)
The underside of the brooch bar is stamped ‘15CT’ for 15ct gold. There is also a maker’s stamp (and some tiny, very lightly engraved letters)
This brooch is over 100 years old and is offered for sale in lovely condition with no damage and showing just the lightest signs of age / general wear. The aquamarine is in excellent condition with no chips or scratches and with nice, crisp, facets. The case is in very good condition showing just light signs of age / general use; there is a small light scuff on the bottom. The case opens easily and closes securely with a click.
