Sweet, Tiny, Antique Silver and Turquoise Cabochon Shamrock Brooch

£24.00
sold out

This adorable, tiny little brooch dates from around 1900 - 1910 and is made of solid silver. The brooch is in the form of a Shamrock / clover leaf and is set with cabochon cut natural turquoise. The brooch has a ‘C’ clasp and a loop is also fitted so that a safety chain could be added.

The brooch measures 1.4cms height and it weighs 1.3g

There are no hallmarks, but the brooch tests as solid silver. There is a light indentation on the reverse of the brooch which might have been an original hallmark or maker’s stamp (now unclear).

This antique brooch is over 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing some signs of age / general wear. The turquoise are all in very good condition and the pin / clasp are secure (the pin is a little stiff / tricky to open). There is a little tarnish on the reverse of the brooch which could probably be removed by further cleaning. There is a tiny split in one area of one section’s silver mount but the turquoise all seem secure.
