Unique Antique Victorian 18ct Gold Cased 'One Penny Ring' (1901)

£49.00
sold out

This unique antique ring looks like a standard wedding band but it hides a secret - it’s actually converted from a Victorian penny (dated 1901). Inside the band can be seen the words ‘ONE PENNY’ and a date of 1901 along with other design detail on a Victorian penny. The ring is very heavily plated in 18ct yellow gold; it actually tests as solid 18ct gold using standard electronic and acid tests, but tests as heavily 18ct gold plated using higher spec testing equipment.

The ring is a UK size M and a half / between a US size 6 - 6.5

There are no hallmarks (the ring is heavily plated in 18ct yellow gold)

The ring has a height of 6.5mm and weighs 3.8g

This ring is well over 100 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear.
