














Vintage (1950s) Hroar Prydz Silver Gilt Enamel Butterfly Brooch
This beautiful and collectable vintage brooch dates from the 1950s and is made of Sterling silver, with a lightly gilded finish. The butterfly is enamelled in soft green and brown shades and the enamelling is in excellent condition with a glossy finish.
The butterfly has a wingspan of 2.4cms and the brooch weighs 2.3g
The reverse of the brooch is stamped ‘STERLING 925S’ for Sterling silver, along with ‘NORWAY’ and Hroar Prydz’s maker’s mark.
This vintage brooch is around 70 years old. The enamelling is in perfect condition. The rollover catch is in secure working order. There is an area of discolouration around the area where the hinge is joined to the brooch - possible from where it was joined or the site of a small historic repair.
