This pretty vintage brooch is made of fully hallmarked Sterling silver and dates from 1958. The brooch bears an Edinburgh hallmark and depicts a thistle with facetted purple and amber coloured glass flowers.

The reverse of the brooch bears hallmarks showing that it is made of Sterling silver, along with a date mark for 1958 (Edinburgh). There is a maker’s mark of ‘HW&S’.
This vintage brooch is 68 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear: there are a few tiny fleabite sized nicks to the tops of the thistle flowers at the back. A loop is fitted to the reverse of the brooch so that a safety chain can be fitted, if desired.
