This sweet, fully functioning, miniature heart padlock clasp is made of fully hallmarked 9ct gold and dates from 1963. The padlock is ready to use as a bracelet clasp, but could also be hung on a bracelet or neck chain as a charm.
The padlock has a height of 12mm (including the securing arm) and it weighs 0.8g
The reverse of the clasp is stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1963.
This vintage clasp is 63 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing some light signs of age / wear / use in the form of some light, superficial scratches (which are more visible in the enlarged photos than in reality). There are no dents to the gold. The clasp opens easily and closes securely with a click.
