These sweet and wearable vintage earrings are made of fully hallmarked 9ct yellow gold (both the earrings and the butterfly backs). The earrings date from 1971 and each feature a carved shell cameo of a lady in profile.
The cameos each measure 7mm x 5mm (excluding the gold mount) and the earrings have a combined weight of 0.9g.
Each earring post is stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with hallmarks showing that the earrings were made in Birmingham in 1971. There is also a maker’s mark. Each butterfly back is stamped ‘9CT’ for 9ct gold.
These vintage earrings are 55 years old and are in very good condition for their age, with no damage and showing just very light signs of age / general wear. There is no damage to either of the cameos. The butterfly backs fit securely onto the earring posts.
