This pretty and eyecatching vintage ring is made of fully hallmarked 9ct yellow gold and dates from 1975. The ring is set with an oval ‘mixed cut’ natural amethyst in a pretty and sparkly shade of lilac / lavender; the amethyst has been cut and facetted to reflect the light very nicely.
The ring is a UK size J / US size 4.5 and it weighs 2.7g
The amethyst itself measures 11.5mm x 9mm
The inside of the ring shank is stamped with a crown and ‘375’ for 9ct gold. There are also hallmarks showing that the ring was made in Birmingham in 1975, along with a maker’s mark.
This vintage ring is 51 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. There is a tiny fleabite sized chip to the edge / underside of the amethyst, but this is not at all obvious to the naked eye. Apart from this, the amethyst is in very good condition.
