This classic vintage necklace comprises of uniform, hand knotted, cultured sea pearls. The necklace is set with a hallmarked 9ct yellow gold clasp, which has a central cabochon turquoise surrounded by smaller cultured sea pearls.
The necklace measures 18” in length and the pearls measure approximately 6mm diameter. The clasp measures 1.3cms diameter.
The necklace weighs 22.2g
The reverse of the clasp is stamped with a crown and ‘375’ for 9ct gold. There are also hallmarks showing that the necklace was made in Birmingham in 1978, along with a maker’s mark.
This vintage necklace is 48 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear. The silk stringing is not discoloured and is in good condition. The clasp opens easily and closes securely with a click.
