Vintage (1978) 9ct Gold Bracelet With Attached Turquoise Cabochon Dropper Charm
This vintage bracelet is made of fully hallmarked 9ct yellow gold and comprises of uniform curb links, set with a secure bolt ring clasp. The bracelet has a (permanently) attached turquoise cabochon drop which is set in a 9ct gold mount. The turquoise is a vibrant colour and is an unusual and sought after pyrite matrix turquoise: the silvery coloured pyrite present in the original host rock is showing in the turquoise cabochon. A safety chain has been fitted to the bracelet for added safekeeping.
The bracelet measures 7.5” in length (a standard length) and the turquoise drop measures 9mm diameter (including the gold mount).
The bracelet has a total weight (including the turquoise drop) of 5.7g. The weight of the bracelet without the attached turquoise drop is 4.5g (the links are solid).
One of the end chain links is stamped with a crown and ‘375’ for 9ct gold. The other end chain link is stamped with a maker’s mark and hallmarks showing that the bracelet was made in London in 1978. The clasp is stamped ‘9K’ for 9ct gold and the turquoise mount tests as 9ct gold.
This vintage bracelet is 47 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear. The turquoise drop has a polished finish and also a naturally irregular surface finish in the silver / pyrite areas. There are some surface reaching inclusions but the turquoise is secure in its mount. The bolt ring clasp is in secure working order.
