This sentimental acrostic ‘DEAREST’ ring is made of hallmarked 9ct yellow gold. The ring front is set with a small diamond, an emerald, amethyst, ruby, emerald, sapphire and (green) tourmaline, the initial letters of each gemstone spelling out the word ‘DEAREST’. The word ‘DEAREST’ is also spelled out on the top and bottom sides of the ring setting.
The ring is a UK size N / US size 6.5

The inside of the ring shank is stamped ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with a Birmingham stamp and a maker’s mark.
This vintage ring is in good condition for its age, showing light signs of age and general wear. Under magnification it can be seen that there is light surface wear to four of the gemstones, but this is not obvious to the naked eye when the ring is on the finger. By design this ring was not made with a thick shank.
