This vintage locket pendant is made of 9ct gold and features an engraved floral decoration on the front, together with a blank area which could be engraved with initials. The reverse of the locket is plain (apart from the hallmark). The locket opens to reveal two locket compartments which retain all their original components: the original backing papers, perspex type protective covers and inner securing rings.
The locket is of the 9ct gold ‘back and front’ variety, which means that the locket front and back are solid 9ct gold, but the frame and inner securing rings are a gold coloured metal (which improves the locket’s strength and durability).
The locket measures 2.4cms diameter and it weighs 4.6g
The reverse of the locket is stamped ‘9CT BACK & FRONT’ for 9ct gold ‘back and front’ (see above for detail).
This vintage locket is in good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear. The locket opens easily and closes securely with a click. The top suspension ring has not been soldered closed.
