This attractive vintage heart locket pendant is made of 9ct gold ‘back and front’ and is in the form of an opening heart. The front features stylish engine turned engraving decoration, with a blank area on the lower half that could be engraved with initials. The locket opens to reveal two inner compartments which can hold photos or a lock of hair. The inside contains a cream backing card to each compartment and an inner securing ring to one half.
The locket is of the 9ct gold ‘back and front’ variety, which means that the front and back panels of the locket are made of 9ct gold and the inner securing rings and frame are made of a gold coloured metal (which improves the locket’s strength and durability).
The locket measures 2cms height (excluding the bale and ring) and it weighs 3.2g
The reverse of the locket is stamped ‘9CT BK - FT’ for 9ct gold ‘back and front’ (see above for detail).
This vintage locket is in good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. There are no dents as such, just a couple of very very minor variations in surface smoothness in a couple of areas on the reverse. There is the lightest pinprick type depression on the front of the locket but this is barely worth mentioning. The locket opens easily and closes securely with a click.
