This vintage heart locket pendant is made of 9ct gold ‘back and front’ and is in the form of an opening heart. The front features pretty engraving decoration, with a blank area on one side that could be engraved with initials (or left as is). The locket opens to reveal two inner compartments which can hold photos or a lock of hair. The inside of the locket has two white backing cards, two inner securing rings and one plastic protective cover.
The locket is of the 9ct gold ‘back and front’ variety, which means that the front and back panels of the locket are made of 9ct gold and the inner securing rings and frame are made of a gold coloured metal (which improves the locket’s strength and durability).
The locket measures 2cms height (excluding the top suspension bale) and it weighs 2.6g
The side of the locket is stamped ‘9CT BK & FT’ for 9ct gold ‘back and front’ (see above for detail).
This vintage locket is in very good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. The front has one tiny, superficial, pinprick dent at the edge of the engraved area and the reverse has a couple of areas that are very slightly uneven in finish, all in line with general light wear. The heart shaped plastic protective cover shows general wear (and can be removed if preferred). The locket opens easily and closes securely with a click.
