This unusual and versatile pendant is made of hallmarked 9ct yellow gold. The openwork heart pendant opens to allow one of six semi precious stones to be added as the centrepiece. The semi precious stones are spherical, not drilled, and are: onyx, amethyst, rose quartz, rock crystal, mother of pearl and (reconstituted) turquoise. The heart opens easily and is securely closed by a chain threading through the top bale. The pendant is offered for sale in its original fitted case.
The heart itself, excluding the bale and suspension ring, measures 2cms height and it weighs 2.0g (excluding any centre stone).
Each semi precious stone measure 1cm diameter.
The heart’s bale is stamped ‘375’ (for 9ct gold) in two places, along with a Birmingham stamp and a maker’s mark.
