Vintage 9ct Rose Gold and Natural Opal Cabochon Ring
This pretty vintage ring is made of hallmarked 9ct rose gold. The ring front is set with a row of five cabochon cut, natural, opals. The opals display a good play of colour giving off flashes of mainly pink and green in different lights (the colours look more vivid against a dark background).
The ring is a UK size R / US size 8.5 and it weighs 1.5g
The opals measure 3.5mm diameter.
The inside of the ring shank is stamped ‘9ct’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with a maker’s mark of ‘SM’ and a couple of other small stamps which I can’t quite make out.
This vintage ring is in good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. The opals are natural and, on close inspection, it can be seen that two of them have a couple of tiny ‘flecks’ which are specks of original host rock (not obvious to the naked eye).
